Mark is a photographer, film-maker and digital artist, with a background in performance, video, and interactive programming. Mark’s work includes the production of digital imagery for performance and installation; cinematography and direction for screen dance and circus; and photographic and video documentation and promotion.
In 2023 Mark worked with Complicité as Associate Video Director on the re-tour of “Drive your plough over the bones of the dead”. Other recent collaborations include projection design for Chisato Minamimura’s “Mark of a Woman”; creative captioning for Altered Skin's "Fatherhood"; "Emerging" and "Depths of my Mind" with Scarabeus Aerial Theatre; and ongoing work with Lindsey Butcher / Gravity & Levity, documenting work and creating films of her practice.

From 1983 to 2003 Mark’s primary occupation was as a circus performer, teacher and director who worked with (amongst others) NoFit State Circus, Zippos Circus and as a founder member of The Generating Company. Mark has been involved with The Circus Space (now the National Centre for Circus Arts) since it opened in 1989 and his roles there have included BTEC course leader, lecturer on BA (hons) degree, Team Leader on Millennium Dome Training Scheme and core team member of bespoke Paralympic Opening Ceremony training project in 2012. Mark also lectures on the BA(Hons) Course at Circomedia in Bristol.
Mark has been performing with Natalie Reckert since 2016. They have created a number of pieces together, notably their touring theatre show, Natalie Inside Out. Further details at www.natalieinsideout.com
